Inspiring hands‑on STEM through robot design, programming, and real‑world teamwork
We’re the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team from McNeil High School in Austin, Texas, founded in 2023. Our students design, build, and program competitive industrial‑grade robots, gaining experience in software, electronics, CAD, and teamwork.
We run a sustainable, student‑driven program where experienced members mentor new recruits—so knowledge lives on as classes graduate.
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a global nonprofit that engages students in STEM through mentor‑guided robotics programs rooted in Gracious Professionalism® and teamwork.
In FRC, high school teams get about six weeks to build a ~125‑lb robot for a new game each year—combining strategy, engineering, and collaboration at local, state, and world championship events.
2023 – Qualified for the FRC World Championship in our rookie year. Ranked 4th among rookie teams worldwide and received the Quality Award for exceptional engineering excellence.
2024 – Earned 1st Place at NTX Tournament of Robots.
2025 – Texas State Finalist; qualified for Worlds and won 8 of 10 matches. Ranked in the top 6.9% of FRC teams worldwide. Also a finalist in both FIRST Belton District event and Off season TRI(Texas Robotics Invitational)
We engineer in focused subsystem teams—drivetrain, launcher, intake, climber, vision, and bumpers—so mechanical and programming members learn side‑by‑side, iterate faster, and deliver reliable performance.
